I am sitting here, in my
boring room, it’s 27°C degrees outside, the sun is shining and I,.. I am..
I am sitting here, as I said already. hehe
After a beautiful stroll alongside the Spree, Berlins famous river – with camera and girl in hand – I decided to catch up with my blog again. I mean I could be out there, enjoying sun and shine – instead I choose blog-write-INK.
As some might already know – it is Berlin city now a days where I am writing from.
We did come quite a long way until we finally decided to settle here for some time.
But first things first
Looking back,.. my last shout was from Lyon, France. How about I commence au francais et derniere je fait beaucoup d’anglais et.. oui .. non.. merde!
Ähm.. yeah I might just go ahead and start of in France, again.
It’s mid July and we find ourselves in french territory. It’s summer and warm and french and nice. From Lyon, where we spent most of our days, we take a four day trip towards le capital de france: L’amour toujour tout le monde – Paris.
Paris, well known as the city of romance, was indeed a very unique place. With one year in our relationship book – we spent not just some beautiful days there, Non non non.. we also celebrated our one year anniversary there.
I am happy to say: We love Paris and Paris loves us.
Paris was a very cool spot. I’ve seen a few cool city already but Paris is definitely right up there. It’s history and beauty is just outstanding. That’s why with less words, therefore more pictures I continue..
Ps. Little detour topic: I usually listen to music while writing my blog – today I listen to some beautiful soundtracks.. and while I am innocently writing about Paris – in the background I hear the soundtrack of “Braveheart“… very touching! haha
Vive la France!
Oh friends, Paris was good to us. I tell you that.
We left Paris and soon later our friends in Lyon with a huge smile; not because we were happy to leave them of course haha but because we had such a sweet time.Three weeks in France, with great weather and even better company. Thanks again, merci guys!
What we wanted to do after France was obvious: More of the same shit. Travel, exploring, enjoyment, sun and monkey business. A short look into our banks accounts later,… and… well.. let me put it like this: There – where there was once a flourishing and strong river – there was now the dryness of the Sahara desert. #colorful #deep
Anyways,.. we didn’t let this effect our traveling spirit just yet. So what did we do? We moved the fuck on(!),.. Prochain arrêt – Next Stop: Lake Geneva, Switzerland.
Oh Switzerland was good to us. I tell ya that.
We booked an apartment near Geneva and directly at the lake and enjoyed some beautiful summer days there – just in between the french and swiss border. It was lovely,… we basically explored the city, sat at the water or went for a swim. One day we even learned something about science, when we visited CERN, the institute with the largest BLABLA (fancy science word),.. wait google helps – The Large Hadron Collider -. Large Hadron Collider or short LHC you watch BIG BANG THEORY? Well than you might have heard of it. WOOOOhoooooooo
Oh Geneva was so goo…
Hop switz Hop – Polaroids
And a week later,… we went back on the road.
With our next destination: Berlin, we boarded a bus, which took almost 2 1/2 million lightyears (and not the cool ones like in Capt. Buzz lightyear more like ages and ages away) .. it was basically a very looong and uncomfortable busride. Anyways,.. we made it at one stage back to civilization and found ourselves in the middle of germanys capital! Wohooo go Germany!
Berlin: a city of culture, history and all sorts of people. Exciting!
With the plan of finding work and an apartment we set up camp at one of my friends place, Lars (hero kind of guy!) We stayed there for a few weeks, setting up life!
And here I am, not yet six weeks from that particular day we arrived in Berlin, set up with job and roof over my head. It’s been very interesting over the past couple of weeks – trying to work out everything. But so far I can say it worked out very well.
Monique started two weeks ago at a Day Spa near by to our new house. That is perfect since she gets to work her profession with no expectation to speak fluent german. (I rarely know people who speak perfect german anyways.. it’s a fucked up language).
Me on the other hand I found work pretty fast as a social worker, dealing with teenagers from the streets and refugees. It’s about hope, fun and a brighter future. All combined with sports. I love it.
And as if that’s not enough luck for us already, we also found ourselves a room in a neat little apartment where we live from now on. It’s so hard to find accommodation is Berlin due to too many people and not enough housing, anyways through a good friend of Monique we got lucky. Nice one!
So here we are now. Enjoying ourselves as always and filling up our bank account with heaps of gold coins.
May it be a flourishing river one day again.
Until then we shall be anchored at Port Capital! So Far – So Happy :)
With love and some good bye pictures from our first weeks – exploring and living – in big B-City!
Oh, Berlin you are so good to us.
With Love and peace,
Nq and Tj
