“I sdk eül sduj ölap wusn”
He, you know the feeling – You wake up and the first sentence you speak to someone sounds like “JSDsdfkjawd 3824e982e()&)”§(/=”§Sjsdbk” ,.. I mean sounds kinda retarded, like muito retardardo?
Yeah,.. I somehow feel like this returning on my blog. Haven’t written anything in aaaaaaaages. Such a shame. But no worries my fellow friends,.. I am back. I am back in blogwriting with new creativity, energy, craziness and most important still great hair.
Welcome back everybody! :)
This blog is about the last year – 2014. Well,.. it’s not yet “last year” cause we still have 2014 and nobody is hungover from the New Years party yet (but we all know, we will be:))) BUT I think it’s time to stop for a moment and review the past 364 days of a wonderful year.
Rewind time with me and have a look at some colorful storys from Canada, USA, Norway, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Denmark and Germany.
– Let’s have a little taste from the big apple called life.
Canadian winter, baguette and the icing on the cake adventure.
So here we are. It’s early January. I am hungover, of course. I just survived New Years Eve 2013. It’s 2014 now and I find myself in Whistler, Canada. I work, I have a friends, I have a great time. And I feel like leaving. I spent all of my winter here,.. I arrived in fall last year and worked the shit out of Legends 5 star Hotel. Bellman, smile and highfigh with many guests. Skiresort, aprés ski, beers, my first snowboard experience. Whislter was intense.
Oh by the way: My gopro recorded my babysteps into the snowboard world
Oh and by the way 2: I improved and my gopro was with me all the time
I left Whisler mid of January towards Banff. A little canadian, charming, romantic, beautiful village. I spent two weeks there, after I’ve been there already two month in total working in 2013. I visited a few friends and enjoyed the view in the middle of snow, kindasupercold weather and the rocky mountains.
Sexy I know. And Banff isn’t bad as well. Ihihihi. :)) After a trainride for just 3(!)days I returned to stay at my cousins family in Toronto. I’ve left in early May 2013 and said “He, I will be back in around 2 month”. Well,.. that was a BADASS lie. I returned about six month later when the calender showed 2014 already. Meee scusiiiii
Anyways. I returned to my great canadian family. I spent my 25th birthday – which is in mid of February as OF COURSE everybody knows – there and went to see one of the world wonders: The niagara falls.
After a few lovely days at “home” I left for my last canadian adventure towards Quebec – where people used to speak dadore french. (dadore is a beautiful german word with no meaning at all. A word created just for me!) I visited my good old Banff friend Samuel, the red devil and spent some days in Montreal and Quebec city. I improved my french A LOT, so I consider myself to be multicuturalspeakingtalented. Well,.. ok. Let’s say I have the same charme as If I would speak french,.. Je parle un peu de francaise…… peut être, Tarbanak.
From Montreal I took a rideshare into the most famous city in the World. Flensburg.
Aehm, ok you got me. Flensburg is just the most beautiful city but not the most famous city, yet(!). Anyways I made my way towards New York City and spend almost a week there. It was impressive. With great people, great partys and Carlos Santana. Less words, more polaroids.
I survived tasting the big apple and returned to big T (orontooow) for a few last days. I used the time wisely spending quality time with some special people. End of March I said goodbye Canada after one amazing year abroad.
Home – charging the batteries.
April and May I spent home. I met up with my loved ones and had great weeks. Yes,.. weeks. It didn’t take long before I left Germany, Flenburg and Home again. Inbetween my 7 weeks back home, I went on a cruise with my roommate to Oslo, Norway.
Campeão of South America.
After a short high5 with home I left end of May for my next adventure – called World Cup 2014 in Braziiiiuuuuuu. From May till August I stayed in south america. I visited Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile, meeting people, making friends. Oh and beside that I became World Champion. Just sayin’
At the airport: And the journey begins…
My first two weeks I spent in Rio de Janeiro. Fun fact (oh no let’s just say “fact” don’t know if you guys really think thats funny,..) Anyways: People from braziiuu don’t pronounce the “R” (when it’s standing alone or something,.. I didn’t pay attention to grammar, desculpaaaa) So it’s not RRRRrrrriioooooo, it’s “Hiooo”,… HIOOOOO… hahaha.
After two exiting weeks in Rio (I really hope you all read “HIO” out loud in your mind) I left for São Paulo. The place where I had the best partys ever (well except for one night but we’ll come to that point later in this fairytale.) Beside that it was about time to start the FIFA World Cup 2014. The most intense month of my life just started.
I wrote my first World Cup article in SP for a newspaper in Germany. I spent a wild time during the first days of the world cup and enjoyed life as I was suppose to. I got tickets for three games and left after a week for my next destination. Belo Horizonte.
Beautiful landescape and my first World Cup game will let me remember this place for a long long time, so called forever.
I saw Belgium “crushing” Algeria 2:1 and went exploring with a nice crew to some pretty cold waterfalls. But what is a waterfall in warm braziuu when you went swimming in one in Canada already,.. so of course I took a shower. Hair conditioning at it’s best.
After Belo, I went to Fortaleza to catch up with Paulo, a friend I met ealier this year in NYC. I had a blast with sweet adventures in Jericoquara (No I don’t google this name again,.. it is what it is,… wrong!) and another two game in the arena. And yes I saw Germany playing against Ghana, the by far most exiting game I saw so far. The atmosphere – Wow. I am still not able to describe.
It was mental.
Before I went back to Hio, Rio, Schnio.. whatever. I spend a few more days on the road,.. in REFICE.. nonono,.. you guys know better now. H(!)ecife. I got a heart attack during the Germany – Algeria game and cured myself with tons of beer and the love from some great refice people. Oink.
Back in Rio I went almost everyday to the FIFA Fan Fest at copa, copacabana beach. Watching football, drinking beers, on the beach without shoes and just your jersey and no pants,… and huch.. haha
Rio was so outstanding that pictures will do the job.
And after a fantastic month of football, meeting people from all over the world – such a unique time,… There was this one moment..
The moment we became World Champion.
My friends will understand that after this moment, I couldn’t let RIO be RIO. Or Hio be Hio. I had to BURN DOWN THE CITY. Sorry but Rio as you know it is gone. Germany took over,.. it was nothing but the best night of my life. (SO FAR!)
By the way 3: My gopro and bla and world cup and emotions. MUITO EMOTIONS
What an unreal journey so far. I took Rio apart and enjoyed a huge Party with Team Germany. But,.. my trip wasn’t over yet. With the world cup trophy in my pocket I continued traveling through brazil. I enjoyed some beautiful days south of brazil with Isabel – who I met in Banff, Canada early this year – far away from football and copa du mundo.
My last stop in braziu was a few days later the border region to Argentina and Pargugay, where the world known Iguaçu Falls are located. I had a really wet adventure there with Bruno my couchsurfhost at first, later amigooooow. Together we went to Argentina and Paraguay for a day each. Once I arrived in Argentina I started singing by the way (4), not beautiful but effective! Iiii liebe deutsche Land.
So far so beautiful, such a talent.
After my travelexplosion – 3 countries in less than 24hours – I took a plane and left for Chi chi chi Le le le. I met up with Maria and spent a few nice days in Santiago de Chile. Together we traveled to the atacama desert, the dryest dessert on earth and one of the most impressive places I’ve been so far. Words are useless sometimes,.. (even though it’s so nice talking,.. I mean like,.. don’t you like to listen to what I am saying? BOLACHO XxX,.. STFU TJ)
After two nice weeks in Chile I returned to Brazil, Sao Paulo and Joinville, before I boarded my last plane back to Germany. Three month in south america were so soo intense, I was really tired after traveling. After one year in Canada and the US and just 7 weeks home, I was finally ready. Ready to come home, to stay. (For a while :D )
A man and his memories,..
Coming Home – Staying Home – Enjoying Home
I’ve been home now for 4 month already. I started working in two jobs right away – in my old journalism job and as a barkeeper, receptionist at a hotel – where I tried to safe some money for my further travels. Beside that I returned to my old football club, joined my old party crew, added a few “originals” to it – like crazy people and enjoyed time back in my hometown with family and friends.
Puuuh,.. still people here reading this? I know I know it has been a loooong journey. Not just writing this blog, this year was a big big journey. A what a fantastic one.
Thanks to each and every one who left at least a little note in the book I call life.
Wow,.. where did that one come from? hahaha
Enough words have been written. Enough words have been spoken. 2014 was the most exiting year of my life so far. I feel happy for all the great moments I shared with some lovely people. Let’s see what 2015 will bring. For me probably some cheeky storys in down under – since I leave for New Zealand in January already :)
I wish all of my familiy and friends a great new years eve and an even better year 2015.
